應紐約時尚特區聯盟(Garment District Alliance)之邀，康木祥的「重生」(Rebirth)系列作品 在當代藝術重心― 曼哈頓揭幕亮相。以台北101大樓電梯退役鋼纜打造而成的系列作品，將冰冷生硬的廢棄鋼纜轉化為線條柔軟、象徵生命初始之胚胎造型雕塑，作品一登場立即引起路人 駐足圍觀。

時尚特區聯盟主席Blair女士指出，「重生」系列作品不僅將吸引紐約人、國際觀光客注目，作品所傳遞的環保訊息也必將成為焦點。「重生」系列從材料、規模和宛如胚胎的造型，均讓人驚嘆，尤其鋼纜的線條紋路與象徵時尚特區的絲線極其相似，加上以「重生」、「無盡生命」為創作理念，與該特區追求蛻變轉型的精神不謀而合。

時尚特區地處曼哈頓的心臟地帶，北鄰時報廣場，南接梅西百貨，每天約有五萬人經過，此次展覽不只是特區內的美學提升，對於每日經過這裡的紐約客及世界旅人來說，這幾件巨大的作品更傳達了重要的藝術、環保訊息。

At the invitation of New York's Garment District Alliance, Kang Muxiang's "Rebirth" series was exhibited in Manhattan, the global center of contemporary art. The series is made from the retired steel cables of Taipei 101 elevators; the cold and unyielding steel cables are transformed into embryonic sculptures with soft silhouettes that symbolize the beginnings of life. The works immediately drew the attention of passersby who would stop and admire them.

Ms. Blair, chairperson of the Garment District Alliance, pointed out that the "Rebirth" series would not only serve to attract the attention of New Yorkers and international tourists alike, but also to convey an important environmental message. The "Rebirth" series is remarkable in terms of material, scale, and embryonic shape. The wire stripes of the steel cable look similar to the silk thread that is a symbol of the Garment District. In addition, the creative concepts of "rebirth" and "endless life" happen to also coincide with the district's pursuit of transformation and evolution.

The Garment District is located in the heart of Manhattan, with Times Square to the north and Macy's to the south. Approximately 50,000 people pass through each day. The exhibition does not only improve the aesthetic experience in the district, but for New Yorkers and tourists from around the world who pass through each day. These huge sculptures also convey an important artistic and environmental message.

旅美知名舞蹈家、紐約瑪莎葛蘭姆舞蹈團(Martha Graham Dance Company)首席舞者簡珮如(Pei Ju Chien-Pott)，在曼哈頓時尚廣 場即興以舞作《與重生對話》與藝術家康木祥的《重生》系列雕塑互動，透過肢體探問同樣作為「空間中的行為」，舞蹈與雕塑將 如何改變空間中的關係，引起觀眾驚嘆。

Pei Ju Chien-Pott, a principal dancer at the Martha Graham Dance Company, performed an impromptu dance "Conversation with Rebirth" on Broadway, Manhattan, interacting with artist Kang Muxiang's "Rebirth" sculpture series. Through her body, she explored how dance and sculpture will change the relationship in space, which isalsoa"behaviorinspace". Theaudiencewasamazed.
