基隆港作為重要的海運樞紐，讓臺灣出現在世界的舞台，為全臺對外貿易的重心，更為基隆帶來豐富的文化底蘊。基隆港的歷史，不僅僅是航運與貿易的故事，更是一部充滿藝術與文化的篇章。在這個特別的時刻，藝術家康木祥以他的視角和創作，為基隆港百年的歷史增添了新的意義。這次展示了4件作品，讓每個來到基隆港的人都能鼠受到基隆港與康老師對於藝術與文化的重視，同時也增添了人們的視覺享受。
基隆港百年風華絕倫，康木祥老師的創作正是對基隆港歷史的致敬與延續。其中一件是老師為基隆港設計的全新作品〈 毛小孩 〉，使用了船的纜繩這一特別的材料，這種創作方式在藝術界前所未有，作品將展示於重要的國門廣場。這些纜繩象徵著基隆港的過去，見證了無數艘船舶的離港與歸來。康老師通過與這些纜繩對話，思索它們為基隆港付出的日日夜夜、勤奮工作的時光。當這些纜繩退役時，他希望給予它們一個榮耀的時刻，讓所有人看見它們經過清洗後的再利用，重新綻放光彩。
使用纜繩還具有另一個特殊的意義，希望藉由纜繩連接與來自世界各地的基隆港訪客，促進彼此間的交流，用纜繩將基隆港與世界接軌。康木祥老師的作品將基隆港的歷史與文化凝聚在一起，將所有精髓內化到作品中，呈現出全新樣貌且富有歷史意義。這次展覽像是基隆港百年歷史的縮影，展示了基隆的過去與未來。同時，透過康木祥老師的創作，我們看到基隆港的重生與轉型，並期待這座城市在美與永續的光輝中，再次綻放榮耀。
As an essential maritime transportation hub and the center of Taiwan's international trade, Keelung Harbor is also known as a city with rich cultural heritage and has brought Taiwan to the global scene in recent years. The history of Keelung Harbor is not simply about shipping and trade, but it also contains a chapter full of art and culture. At this special moment, artist Kang Muxiang brings new meaning to the centennial history of Keelung Harbor through his perspective and art creation. The display of four pieces of art allows every visitor to Kee lung to feel the attention paid to art and culture by Keelung Harbor and artist Kang while simultaneously providing visual enjoyment to the visitors.
As Keelung has been a magnificent port for over a hundred years, Kang Muxiang's art is precisely a tribute to and a continuation of the history of Kee lung Harbor. One of the artworks is a brand-new piece titled Fur Baby, designed for Keelung Harbor by use of a special material-the ropes of ships一in a way that is unprecedented in the art world, It is about to be displayed in the Keelung Gateway Plaza. These ships' ropes represent the history of Keelung Harbor as they had witnessed the departure and arrival of countless ships.
By conversing with these ropes, artist Kang contemplated the many hours of hard work they have put into Keelung Harbor for numerous days and nights. When the ropes were retired, he thought about giving them a moment of glory, letting everyone see them cleaned and reused to shine once again. The use of ropes has an additional purpose of connecting visitors from all over the world to Keelung Harbor, facilitating exchanges, and bringing Keelung Harbor into the global community. Artist Kang's works bring together the history and culture of Keelung Harbor, internalizing its essence into art creation and presenting a new face that is rich in histori cal significance. This exhibition is like an epitome of Keelung Harbor with a century's history, showcasing the past and future of Keelung. In the meantime, artist Kang's creation allows us to see the rebirth and transformation of Keelung Harbor . We look forward to seeing this city glow with beauty and sustainabili ty once again.
