The Grounds for Sculpture in New Jersey was founded in 1984 by American sculptor and philanthropist John Seward Johnson II, heir to the Johnson & Johnson corporation. The park has a collection of more than 240 modern sculptures and is one of the most famous outdoor exhibition venues of contemporary sculpture in the United States.

In 2016, Tom Moran, the park's chief curator, saw Kang Muxiang's work by chance in Manhattan. He remarked, "I immediately realized that we must find a way to exhibit his steel and copper cable sculptures. Once placed in the right spot in the Grounds for Sculpture, I believed they would look amazing. At the same time, I also feel that Master Kang Muxiang is doing the very important work of continuously advancing the field of contemporary sculpture."

Ambassador Xu Liwen and many other distinguished guests attended artist lectures during the art salon held for artists at the park on August 13th. The Rebirth series brings new vitality to the New Jersey sculpture park.
They gleam under the sunlight as clouds drift lazily overhead. The shape of the sculptures reflected in people's eyes, eyes that changed to reflect back infinite imagination.
