Unlimited Wisdom Joins the Collection of KTH Royal Institute of Technology

Life begins in a mother's womb.
From the moment an embryo is formed, a new journey begins. It is far more than a cluster of cells—it is the beginning of infinite possibilities. Around the fourth week, the first heartbeat emerges, and by the tenth week, distinct human features have already taken shape. The first chapter of life quietly unfolds.

Life is limited, while the wisdom of humanity knows no boundaries.
Through education and research, knowledge is passed from one generation to the next, enabling human civilization to continue evolving. Universities and research institutions are not only places of learning, but also foundations where innovation is nurtured and the future is imagined.

For this reason, artist Kang Mu-Xiang presented Unlimited Wisdom to KTH Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden. More than a work of public art, the sculpture is intended to become a lasting symbol of life, wisdom, and sustainability.

Inspired by the form of an embryo, Unlimited Wisdom represents the boundless potential within every new life. While every individual life is finite, human wisdom continues to grow through education, research, cultural exchange, and the collective efforts of generations. The work reminds us that every scientific breakthrough and technological innovation should be guided by respect for life and a responsibility toward future generations.

As one of the world's leading universities in engineering, science, and technology, KTH shares a commitment to innovation and sustainable development that resonates deeply with Kang Mu-Xiang's artistic philosophy. For decades, his work has explored the themes of life, connection, regeneration, and sustainability. Installed on the KTH campus, Unlimited Wisdom creates an ongoing dialogue between art and science, as well as between Eastern and Western cultures.

The installation also marks an important milestone in Kang Mu-Xiang's international art initiative, A Cable Connecting the World. Originating in Taiwan, this ongoing project connects countries and cities through art, conveying shared values of peace, sustainability, human connection, and the continuity of life.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Ambassador Klement Ruey-Sheng Gu and the entire team at the Taipei Mission in Sweden. Through their unwavering support and continuous efforts to promote educational, artistic, and cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Sweden, this meaningful collaboration became possible. Their dedication has created new opportunities for dialogue and cooperation, allowing Taiwanese contemporary art to reach a wider international audience.

Standing on the KTH campus, Unlimited Wisdom will continue to accompany generations of students, researchers, and visitors. It is our hope that the sculpture will inspire reflection on the value of life, the inheritance of wisdom, and our shared responsibility to shape a more sustainable future.
